Rain, Rain Go Away!

Yesterday was round 1 of the Suffolk Showcase for admitted students in the College of Arts & Sciences. It was a gorgeous (or not so much) day out. Yay rain...right? I'm a veteran at these events, since this was my 3rd showcase, but waking up at 7 am on a rainy Sunday is not my idea of fun. There was a pretty good turn out, but by the time I gave a tour, I had 5 people with me instead of 50 people like some of the other tour guides had.

The Business School Showcase is next Sunday and I was asked to be one of the student speakers so I have to come up with something to talk about, but I've spoken at Showcase and Open House before so I'm sure I can come up with something. I'm really hoping it won't be raining next week.

I had a horrendous Finance Exam today. We're allowed to have a cheat sheet, but some of the questions were legit a paragraph in length and we had to sort through all the information to find what we needed. I don't think I did well which means my A average will cease to exist, but I have one more exam and a few homework assignments to boost my grade back up.

Other than that I'm counting down the days until summer vacation (30!) and I get to register for classes tomorrow (I'll be a senior...ahhh!). This last month is going to be extremely hectic but I'm looking forward to it because the more I have to do, the faster the time will fly! Speaking of which, today has flown by for me and I'm not really complaining. I'm looking forward to going home for Easter so I can see my puppy and sleep in and a 4 day weekend after that! Life is good :-)

5 Weeks Left!

I have only 5 weeks left of my Junior year, scary! While some aspects of my last weeks here are calming down, other aspects are speeding up; I've significantly cut down on my hours here in the office which means I won't have to be here during finals week, but I have to be careful or I might be giving tours for free! I have 2 group projects coming up, neither of them have been started because 1. I need 2 more members for one group and 2. The second group project hasn't been discussed in class so no one has any idea what it's going to be on.

My History class was cancelled yesterday which was a wonderful surprise because my professor doesn't come off as the type of guy who would ever cancel class, but we still have a quiz tomorrow (bummer). I had two exams before Spring Break; Business Law and Operations Management. I got a 91 in Business Law and a 78 in Operations Management which I'm totally bummed about because I got a 94 on the first exam, but the class average was a 63 so maybe I should be pretty satisfied with my grade.

My spring break was pretty calm and laid back. I didn't go anywhere warm or tropical unfortunately, but I did work at the hotel in my town and made some money. I came back up to Boston for the weekend before classes started again and it was a wonderful idea because I had 3 days to relax and do nothing while most of the other people I know came back Sunday and were frantically running around trying to get ready for the next day.

I can't wait for summer! I have so many things planned and I am very excited! I'm going to Virginia Beach with a couple ambassadors, I'm having a weekend-long celebration with my closest friends for my birthday, a trip to Hampton Beach and many other 1 day adventures like Six Flags, beach trips etc. With the weather fluctuating as much as it has lately, I'm getting very sick of the cold and wind and I'm looking forward to warm and sunny days!

And on that note I'm going to file folders!

It's Been a While

It's been a while since my last post and I feel bad about leaving such a gap between posting. Things in my life have been pretty crazy with papers, exams, work, oh and my laptop dying on me, that I haven't had a lot of time to blog.

Classes are the same as always but we're shifting into that time of the semester where group projects and studying for midterms are at the top of my To-Do List. I have two exams next Wednesay, Business Law and Operations Management. While I really like my professor for Business Law because he's kinda quirky and shares really amusing stories, his teachings don't coincide with the syllabus, so studying for his exam will be a blast.

My laptop died on me almost two weeks ago, and as a college student who is constantly glued to Facebook, I thought I would cease to exist without a constant connection to the internet. However, it was actually kind of nice to take a break from "who is dating who" and "what's the latest gossip". Facebook can get people into trouble and I was perfectly happy being ignorant of whatever was going on around me. But, my new laptop came in yesterday so now I have that constant connection to everyone's business, but I think I'll keep my distance.

We had a snowday Monday which was excellent! I have never had more than 2 days of classes cancelled here at Suffolk and the last time this happened was during finals week of Fall semester Sophomore year. I have mixed feelings about winter and the snow, but on Monday I decided to go out and walk around the city before the snow turned brown and gross. It was really pretty and mostly everyone looked miserable to be out, but I was thoroughly enjoying myself. Don't get me wrong though, I am ALL SET with the snow now. I'm ready for 50 degree weather, flip flops and skirts!

Oh a final note, I had some friends over a few weeks ago and I snapped a lovely picture of me, Allison and Chris (two other Ambassadors). Enjoy!
